How Geschke shut down a costly false claim with CONQA
On complex, high-stakes projects, from hospitals to large industrial builds, Geschke uses CONQA to turn QA from paperwork into protection against costly disputes

The flood that wasn't their fault
On a hospital project, Geschke’s plumbing crew faced a nightmare. Another trade had poured grout into the basins, which settled in the traps and caused blockages. Geschke was called in to work on the blocked drains, and while in the process of repairs, a blocked drain caused a flood, lifting freshly laid floors. The finger was pointed at Geschke as they had been responsible for maintaining the TMVs. Marc recalls the accusation:
“In the meantime, there was a flood. They said, ‘It’s Geschke’s fault. They didn’t do their TMVs.’”
This was a serious accusation. Geschke could be hit with massive back charges for repairs, and their reputation with the builder was on the line. However, Geschke had the evidence they needed.
“Our QA showed it had been tested twice already. The builder said, ‘It can’t be Geschke, cause they tested this just last week and it was fine.’ It saved our ass from a massive back charge.”

Life before CONQA
When Marc started at Geschke 17 years ago, QA lived in folders. Site staff filled out checklists on A4 paper, had to print photos, and everything was filed by hand in an office on site. If a builder wanted proof of work, foremen had to stop work and dig through files.
“You’re forever chasing the guys for photos. Then you’ve got to get a printer, get ink, attach everything in a folder. If the builder wanted something, you’d be running around trying to find it.”
It was admin-heavy, stressful, and left them overexposed to disputes and backcharges.
Making the switch
When CONQA was introduced, not everyone was convinced off the bat. Change meant risk, and the old paper process, while painful, was at least familiar.
“The bosses were a bit hesitant because they didn’t like change, but they gave us a chance… it made our life easier straight away.”
That chance quickly showed its value. What used to take hours of printing, chasing, and filing was suddenly done on site in real time. Crews logged photos and checklists directly into CONQA, and supervisors could see progress instantly.
The cultural shift followed naturally. Instead of QA being a burden, it became part of the build itself. Over time, the whole company came on board.
“It's in the guys' hands now. They're doing it on site, and we're checking from the office. It's been a lifesaver to be honest.”

Supported by CONQA: Geschke has the proof at their fingertips
Now, everyone at Geschke, whether they’re on a small team or working on an 80 person job, is on CONQA. Builders are given viewer access to the platform, so they can review work as it happens, stay on top of progress, and no longer require someone like Marc to dig up whatever proof they are looking for.
For Geschke, QA is no longer about ticking boxes. It’s about safeguarding their work, protecting their reputation, and keeping projects moving.
“Lifesaving. I’d promote it 100%”
“Just how easy it is to get the builders on it, that’s the big one. We give them access, and they leave us alone. They’re not down my back asking for QA. They can just log in and see it.”

That hospital incident proved it: with CONQA, QA isn’t just a checklist. It’s proof. It’s protection. It’s peace of mind - and it can do the same for your projects.
